happy as an oyster.

so i drove to chicago today, first time here since mid june... Summer in Chicago is so wonderful. Even more wonderful in my lovely apartment. I cleaned heavily upon arrival, but have relaxed for awhile now. I walked around campus, then over to east hyde park, its a beautiful night out. Campus is so close, its going to be so weird to never have to panic about waking up 10 minutes before class begins.

Tomorrow I may go furniture shopping, or just relax, do some more reading, clean up some more, etc. I'm just not sure. I am sure however that I hope my neighbor shuts the shade on his bathroom window cause not only can i hear the shower going, i may or may not see him in the shower momentarily, and I'm not 100% okay with that. or even 50%. Oh mg. Let's just say whoa there tiger.

enchanting? i think yes.

Esne troglodyta?

I got the most super fun job-for-a-day today. I get to work at the Farm Aid Concert on September 18th at the Tweeter Center. I get to do promotional stuff for the sponsor all day, and get paid, very well. It sounds nice, and the lady was super nice that hired me.

You know what? I dont get people. I see all types of people everyday that i am just like, what are you thinking? Except for the greeter at Mejier today, she was so nice about telling me the bottle retunr was non-existent for the day, or until 8pm they told her, "but if i were i'd just come back tomorrow." She was nice. But what about the bitch working the U-scan last week who got royally pissed at me for taking an item out of the bag a couple times because it wasnt registering as being in there? "Just LEAVE it in there!" I said, excuse me? So she told me that now "that you have taken it in and out of the bag a thousand times its gonna take a while to register." Right lady, as if I wasnt just planning on you hitting the okay button like you are supopsed to. Good god people. So we both stood there for at least three minutes just waiting for it to clear on its own. Idiots.

I'm watching nightmare before christmas. Nightmare this, u-scan lady.

once a nerd, always a nerd...

so the new case, for mock, was released today. surprisingly enough I know this, and may or may not have been awaiting it for the last couple weeks. While I clearly hate to admit it, it turns out there is a little bit of mock nerd, even in myself, no matter how much i deny it. so i go to perjuries (yes, i know, strike 2) to see if any chicago people are discussing the case, to see if we have a password, or at least somebosy else's password for the time beinng, and sure enough, i spot at least one person having most certianly seen the case... so then i am faced with the dilemma, do i admit to this whole wanting to know/caring thing and email this person to ask for means to access the case, thereby admiting my desire to know as well as having been lurking around perjuries? or do i simply wait for a lishost email in which i can immediately go and access the case from never having anyone the wiser to my inner nerdiness? I think I will choose the latter, at least for tonight, as I a have plenty of books left to read and latin to learn this summer to keep me occupied until I can start looking over the new case, and getting involved in that, right?

good god i need class again... its been over 5 months since i took winter quarter finals, and i'm finally starting to lose it... learning latin for fun? this is serious.

it ain't easy bein' banished

so today has been a weird day. actually, yesterday was weird too, but not nearly as weird as today. I think i may have just had this huge epiphany on my way to VHP and 7-11, but im not totally sure. It was one of those things that isnt really an epiphany cause its not really anything new but in fact, it kind of is. Or maybe thats not a common thing for everyone, and "one of those things" was entirely inappropiate."

hilary duff has amazing eyelashes.

truth be told i have had an awful day. i have accomplsihed zero and just kind of sat on the floor staring at ceilings, walls, or screens all day. my parents are in charlevoix, i have the house to myself through monday, and that is wonderful, but just lounging around in a confused, worried and mildly depressed stupor is not exactly wonderful. now i am sitting here watching monsters, inc. and it is just annoying me, but i am not tired but i really just want to go to sleep. All I have wanted all day is just to feel a little less helpless and useless, and awful, and life fell short of that... i could care less if the world wants to be angry with me, but could iat least make sure the world is alright?

while there is nothing left for me here, im anxious about returning to chicago. I should be there semi-permannetly after labor day for sure, with a cedar point trip in there for certian soon after my return. I have an interview on tuesday the 23rd, so i may come and kickit in chicago for that weekend, and then i have to come striaght home after my interview because i get my wisdom teeth taken out at 11:00 that morning.

I haven't used this blog as a substantial expression of anything, not even my own thoughts in a rather long time, not that I was ever a fan of my use of my blog as a method of expressing my frustration and contempt for my world, but at least it was more than just utter babble about an eventless-days events, which is what it has become. I used to read over entries, but now i'd just fall asleep by rereading entries from the last few weeks. Perhaps it is because I have had nothing going on, which is true, but only my own fault, I had two people in Kalamazoo at my fingertips all summer, and spent minimal time, at least compared to what i could/should have, with both of them, and now they are both leaving Kalamazoo for the rest of the summer, one into to complete and utter unreachableness, and I am realizing my summer could have been much more eventful. In Italy I had these great hopes for summer, at the same tiem i was quite anxious, but that was unneeded, and it turned out my hopes for the summer were unneeded as well, as I didnt follow through with any of them.

It's funny, do you do one entirely instinctive and impulsive huge thing, and when it turns out to have been a "mistake" (the kind of mistake you learn more from than you could have ever learned any other way) do you never act instinctively again? My epiphany i had tonight is only evidence of this.

This blog has exceeded proper length, proper content, and I just need to relax and calm down.

BOB EUBANKS!

EVERYTHING AT SAVE-A-LOT IS NOT TWENY-NINE CENTS!!!

well i actually am not sure of this, but i would have to imagine that it is not the case.

so i got my new phone, see left, and it is uber wonderful. it has no camera as i had planned, but it is actually much nicer than the phone i was planning to buy, and perfect for my new text messaging option on my plan. I have already bombarded candace with messages, and it was delightful.

Proof is to be released on the 16 of Spetember... and here's the trailer, can you spot all that uchicagoness?

hump day preview

so turns out this tired spell i have been having (sleeping 13 hours a day and still being tired) was a simple case of accidental detox. I have been pop-free since saturday. that was cured with some pop buying this evening. tomorrow should be much more energy filled. hopefully i make some progress in life. I know i am getting a new cell phone tomorrow (yes, the same phone i was supposed to get saturday, sunday, monday, and today) but seriously i am getting it tomorrow. Which means text messaging, camera phoning, and oh so much more (well not rreally much more... thats basically it, oh flipage as well)

so, i may have mentioned before that i have decided to take middle egpytian hieroglyphs... i decided on this 8th week in Italy... which may explain why when i suddenly asked myself why i wasnt taking latin, as i had always wanted to, i had no logical answer. I really believe i must have had one, cause my latin dream was fresh in mind in italy, because lauren had originally planned on taking latin all summer, and i was expressing my age old desire to take latin.... so what made me choose this extremely ridiculous egyptian thing? I mean, its not surprising knowing me, i am crazy, but, i feel like i must have had some extra pro for it to choose an 8:30 class instead of a much more reasonable 9:30 or 10:30 possibility. Maybe i didnt want to learn with all the other pretentious latin people out there, or maybe latin wastoo close to italian and that was the last thing i wanted more of at that time? I just don't know! (i realize to some this is a clear and somewhat idiotic dilemma)

i'm so bored with life. not kalamazoo, but life. i can't wait for school, and our apartment. and chicago. oh the gray bore of hyde park! i miss it.

a whole half season (or more) of friends...

who knew i was going to watch all of season ten today. I'm on part 2 of the last one. What a wonderful show, no wonder candace and i can watch the smae episodes over and over and over again. That moment in the last one when ross answers monica saying he is at JFK, after just finding out that rachel leaves out of Newark... Oh its just heart breaking... and teh musical accompaniment doesnt help. NO PHILANGIE!?!?!?!

Oh it's time for the last scene... I don't think I'm going to make it...

... oh man, i didn't...

for everytime i have been right, i have not admitted to being wrong twice.

paint is not that runny Bounty

I'm thoroughly enjoying the use of my wireless keyboard these days, i cant even see my screen right now but just having the keyboard on my lap helps me keep much cooler. God i hate Art Van.

So I am uber tired. I had a tiring night yesterday, and while i was home early, actually being social is just energetically taxing. have you seen the pipeing commercial for frequent urination? Its cool looking. Lindsey and i hung out with Dave last night in the student ghetto. We had fun. Today I have not done much, I got two new books from amazon, and ordered another one. I did some work for my mom, and went to the gym, i saw my aunt yvnne before going into teh gym, and that was nice, she was on lunch. my gym had power today, which was good, cause yesterday it was quite hot, and dark, and quiet. But functional nevertheless. Both days.

i need to get more done in life. i have paintings to paint, knit things to knit, books to read, languages to learn.

mmmm i just had sliced apples and sugar and cinnamon. they were Delightful.

Andrew moved to Lansing yesterday...

"I don't eat poop, will you kiss me?" said my mother before retiring to bed.

i heart cheers.
A lot.

the treaty of ghent

who can turn the world on with her smile? who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?

so i am minding my own business today at the bookstore. i am browsing the history non-fiction. i'm not sure why, sometimes it interests me i guess. actually more often than not, funny how that works out. moving on, the odder part of the experience was these two older men, i would say forty to fifty somethings. they reminded me of my ap us history teacher. they are holding some books and chatting about history. but not just anything, oh no, as my subject may give away, they were discussing the Treaty of Ghent... (one means or method of learning about it here) and while i have no clue as to why i used to find it so funny, or maybe i never had a reason, which would explain my reaction in the middle of the bookstore... what was it? just out of the blue, hysterical, snort-out-loud laughter. Did they look at me? Did they notice? Clearly. Did I laugh harder because i was trying to quell it? Yes. Oh it was a good time. I wonder if i ever had a reason, or if it just hits a funny bone? I wish i could remember...

"she's basically like WWCD" (excerpt from the phone conv. i am simultaneously having with andrew) (what would cappy do?)

this launched the existence of a mohammed figure in the italian language. but thats done too now.

i just finsihed admiring my long and unruly curly hair. its fun to do sometimes, i always forget its there when i have it up in a ponytail all the time.

watched a seriously fucked up movie tonight. yay!

room 1210's refrigerator on move out day.
(click to make bigger)

jude law.

so, jude law. i decided i hearted him when i saw closer. tonight i watched i heart huckabees, and while i still heart jude law, not so much the huckabees thing. i mean, it was an interesting and what i would consider very original thing, but i just dont think it worked perfectly, or at all. or at least not perfectly. moral of the story? i would have jude law for dinner. was alfie a good movie? i keep thinking people told me it wasnt. Its one of those movies that we got a sneak preview of at doc.

oh family guy. i have never seen thise episode, well, just not the whole episode, i usually fall asleep by this point on that dvd. clearly not because its boring, but because it is usually either very very late at night or i am intoxicated or both. how pathetic.

andrew and i watched last weeks lagua beach episode and then toights episode as well. it is kind of sick how easy it is to get pulled into these shows... and its not cause they are great or amazing, bu you just get pulled in, and thats really all there is to it. the end.
